“PURITY & WORSHIP TOUR”

 

 

(NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE) –September 7, 2011 –Salem Radio will present Grammy® Award winning Christian artist Rebecca St. James as the headlining force on the  “Purity & Worship Tour” being presented this fall in major Salem broadcast markets across the U.S. 

 

The tour will begin September 16 and 17 in Colorado Springs and Denver markets and continue through December.  Salem Radio affiliates in Washington, D.C. Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Omaha, San Antonio, and Houston are already committed with additional host cities being added.

 

The “Purity & Worship Tour” is being presented as an unplugged, acoustic evening of music and ministry geared to offer family themed entertainment, content, and messaging from one of Christian music’s most articulate contemporary voices.

 

The “purity” theme of the evening is designed to attract young people and their parents—mothers, daughters, fathers and sons-- on a key issue of St. James' messaging.  Since the release of her signature song Wait For Me in 2000, the Australian born singer has been a major voice for the purity and abstinence agenda who has consistently carried the message throughout her ministry in music, books, and film.

Rebecca St. James: The Interview

A world-renowned Christian music artist with chart-topping hits resulting in countless industry awards including a Grammy. Author of eight – soon to be nine – books. Spokesperson for Compassion International aiding in meeting basic needs for tens of thousands of children worldwide. Outspoken advocate for sexual purity and pro-life causes. Actress in the powerful film Sarah’s Choice.

These are all just glimpses of the powerful, God-given influence Rebecca St. James has had on the world. At the age of twelve, she grabbed hold of God’s calling on her life and never looked back. Her accomplishments are undeniable, encouraging, and inspiring.

While preparing to release her latest album I Will Praise You on April 5 of this year, Rebecca’s journey took an exciting new turn into marriage. Rebecca and her husband, Jacob Fink, were united in marriage in San Diego on April 23 in a ceremony that many attendees described as overflowing with God’s presence. The beginning of a new chapter in the life of Rebecca, I had the honor of sitting down to speak with her about this exciting season in her life, the journey of getting there, and the things she learned along the way.

Do you know who Rebecca St. James is? Here’s her story:

Rebecca St. James was born in Australia where she released her first album when she was twelve. Soon after, her parents moved to the U.S. Besides singing, St. James is also an author and actress. In 2000, she wrote the single “Wait for Me”, a song about waiting for the right guy to come along. To promote that song, she also wrote a book called “Wait for Me: Rediscovering the Joy and Purity in Romance”. Since then, St. James has become a major spokeswoman for sexual abstinence before marriage.

To date, she has written eight books with a another one set to come out this Fall. She’s appeared in many movies including Veggie Tales, An Easter Carol, and Sarah’s Choice — a movie about abortion and the  choice of pro-life. St. James is still an advocate of pro-life, speaking at pregnancy centers and performing fundraising concerts.

(Nashville, Tennessee) –August 5, 2011 – Grammy Award winning Christian artist Rebecca St. James is in Norway this week and next for a series of concert/events being staged for young people--events she’s praying will help bring a ray of healing and hope to a country still reeling from the effects of last month’s terror attacks that left scores dead—many of them teenagers—at the hand of a lone gunman.

 

Her August Norwegian visit had been scheduled for months but became a heartfelt focal point for the Australian born singer who, at news of the July tragedy, rallied her thousands of fans worldwide through the miracles of social networking to focus on prayer for the people of Norway.

 

A frequent touring artist in Europe since the beginning of her career, Norway has long been a favorite destination for St. James who feels a special kinship.  She has remaining performance dates in Langesund today with events in the Norwegian cities of Lyngdal on August 7^th and Karmoy on the 8^th.

 

Following her return to the U.S.late next week, Rebecca will immediately re-pack her bags to head for an August 11^th appearance for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association who will present her in concert as part of their “Evening At The Cove” series.  The event series of music and ministry, presented by BGEA at The Cove Training Center in Ashville, North Carolina is open to the public.  For further information, or to purchase tickets, resource online:  www.thecove.org
