NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--Singer-songwriter Rebecca St. James, a longtime supporter of the True Love Waits abstinence movement, announced Jan. 3 that she is engaged to be married.

"St. James will wed the man she's been waiting for -- Jacob Fink -- on a date soon to be announced," a news release from her publicist said. "The Christmas Day proposal came at Rebecca's family farm in Franklin, Tenn., where she was presented the brilliant, solitaire diamond ring. The groom-to-be asked her parents, David and Helen, for their blessing prior to him surprising Rebecca with the engagement ring and his request for her hand in marriage."

Fink is originally from Colorado and now resides in southern California. After spending two years as a missionary in South Africa, he earned a degree in communications with an emphasis on film production, and the couple met through mutual friends in Los Angeles, the news release said.

Happy Christmas From Rebecca

Happy Christmas everyone!

I am writing you from Houston airport...on my way home for Christmas! I'm very excited to be with family and friends this week and to celebrate this beautiful occasion of Jesus' birth with them all. 'All' is definitely the right word to use, as my immediate family numbers 11! Christmas is loud for us, full of wonderful conversations, the giving of gifts, good food and sharing about what God has done in our lives this year. I was just saying to a dear friend today that I want to make sure to take time for reflection, more than ever, this Christmas. I so often feel caught up with all that needs to be done at this time of the year. It takes intentionality for the quietness of heart that is needed to truly appreciate what Jesus did for us in coming to earth.

I pray that your Christmas is one where you experience giving, community, worship and quiet moments to reflect on Jesus' amazing love for us.

Thank you for the incredible blessing of your prayers and support. I hope to see you on the road sometime next year!

Blessings and happy Christmas to you and yours!

Love,
Rebecca St. James John 10:10

NEWS: Grammy Winner Rebecca St. James Believes Pope's Call for Worldwide Prayer Against Abortion Trancends Denominational Lines

In comments today from Los Angeles, Grammy Award winning Christian singer Rebecca St. James is speaking out strongly in support of Pope Benedict XVI’s unprecedented call this week for worldwide prayer against abortion.

An outspoken voice for pro life, the Australian born singer, now living in the U.S, has dedicated a large portion of her time this year to a series of special appearances and support events for Crisis Pregnancy Centers throughout America. St. James' 2009 starring role in the film, Sarah’s Choice, impacted audiences with her moving portrayal of a young career woman pregnant outside of marriage and faced with the decision of the life of her baby. Since its release the movie has been used by CPC Center’s nationally in their pro life messaging to young women facing the real life issues presented in the film.

Of the Pope’s worldwide call to prayer for the unborn on November 27th, Ms. St. James believes it’s an urgent mandate for life that she hopes will cross all denominational lines.

“I applaud Pope Benedict for this call to pray for abortion to end,” she notes, adding: “I applaud him also for standing for life with strength, as he continually does, and I respect him and stand with him in this battle against abortion. Abortion not only steals life from an innocent child, but it invariably wounds the mother.”

FINDING SAFETY IN GOD

MESSAGE FROM REBECCA

Rebecca and her sister Libby onset on the film production “Frontier Boys” More details to come!

Hi Everybody!

Rebecca here—happy Spring!

I am very much enjoying seeing flowers bloom and basking in the warmer weather!

I’m such an outdoorsy person and it’s such a joy to be able enjoy the sun and get out on my roller blades. I am truly an Aussie girl who definitely hasn’t forgotten her roots!

I’ve recently been reading some very intriguing books that I’d like to share with you. I just started a book called God Is the Gospel by John Piper. Really fascinating! Talking about wanting God for He, Himself, not just for the blessing He brings to our lives.

Also on the recommendation of my best friend, I just started reading So Long Insecurity, You’ve Been A Bad Friend, by Beth Moore. It deals with a subject we all deal with at certain points in our life--the subject of insecurities. A key point is finding our safety in God and our relationship with Him—good stuff!
